App Update #4: Building a Stronger United States of Running
One of the most important parts of building an app isn’t always the most visible.
Sometimes progress looks like new screens, exciting features, or bold announcements. Other times, progress happens behind the scenes—through refinements, fixes, and the kind of work that makes an app dependable when real people start using it.
That’s where we’ve been focused lately.
Over the last stretch, we’ve continued improving the core experience of United States of Running while preparing for the next round of beta testing. Our goal remains simple: create the best possible tool for runners pursuing the 50-state challenge.
What We’ve Improved
Better Reliability
We recently identified and fixed a race date-saving issue in the app. We also added stronger protections to help prevent saved race data from being accidentally overwritten.
These may sound like small details, but they matter. When runners trust an app to track a journey that can span years—or even decades—accuracy and reliability have to come first.
Continued Experience Refinements
We’re also continuing to improve the journey experience built around our mission:
Plan. Track. Celebrate.
That means helping runners:
Find races in the states they still need
Log completed races and monitor progress
Celebrate milestones with visuals worth sharing
Stay motivated throughout a long-term journey
Every improvement is aimed at making the challenge feel more organized, more rewarding, and more fun.
What’s Next
Next up is another build, continued testing, and more valuable feedback from our beta team.
We’re grateful for everyone following along, supporting the mission, and helping shape what this can become.
We’re getting closer every day.
50 States. One Journey.
